The Aberfeldy WellOne vision is a shared approach to health, wellness and community. The vision has driven the planning and implementation of services and operations, as well as the design. WellOne is a partnership between the Aberfeldy Practice and Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group, for whom we have developed the design for the ground floor community spaces and the clinical first floor; Poplar HARCA are overseeing the development of the adjoining cafe.
The collaboration aims to provide a holistic design approach for the health centre and cafe area. The scheme delivers an innovative approach to integrated healthcare with the focus on social prescribing and new methods of patient consultation. Health, wellness and community services require flexible, well-equipped spaces. Group rooms adjoining the waiting area can be used individually or can be combined into a large single space, supporting a wide range of activities such as fitness classes, health education, peer support sessions and vaccinations programmes.
