The Centre for Respiratory Medicine, London W2
The scheme is a clinical research facility for respiratory infections and is located on the first floor of the Grade II listed Mint Wing. The facility supports an existing chest and allergy outpatients unit that occupies the ground floor. The scheme comprises clinical outpatient spaces, clinical support spaces, sanitary accommodation and office space. For the privacy and dignity of volunteer patients it was necessary to sub-divide spaces into distinct rooms and the resulting interior design is simple and bold, using brightly coloured laminate faced doors to assist patient wayfinding.
